RAD Remedy Reinvigorated
Posted by Riley Johnson, Executive Director on 09/23/2019
We would like to thank you all for your continued support of RAD Remedy and want to take some time to update all of you about where we are and where are future is going!
RAD Remedy is in the process of reinvigorating its efforts to ensure trans, gender non-conforming, intersex, and queer (TGIQ) people have access to the health care we need! In 2016 and 2017, like many of you, our team members all took a hit and had to readjust life, and as an all-volunteer staff, it unfortunately meant that the time we were able to spend on this project was limited, just enough to keep the RAD database of providers up to date.
Today, we are gearing up to jump back into the thick of it! We will be expanding old projects and developing new ones that speak directly to our mission of connecting TGIQ people to affirming healthcare.
We are happy to announce the first step in this effort is joining forces with Jen Laws, a community member and strategic consultant RAD Remedy has worked closely with in the past. He will be working directly with Riley Johnson to reorganize the Board of Directors, engage providers and community alike, monitor our social media, and identify ways in which RAD Remedy can further reach toward greater provider competency when serving TGIQ clients.
Additionally, RAD Remedy is in the process of seeking development and capacity building funds and programmatic opportunities as part of RAD’s overall vision and sustainability. Because RAD Remedy’s ethical structure requires us to pay for the labor invested in making RAD successful, in order to move forward meaningfully, RAD Remedy needs to also reinvigorate our basis of funding with our individual donors - YOU. It is you all who have built and sustained RAD thus far and we continue to need your support to make this organization and our resources strong and dynamic.
Thank you for the support you have given us over the past five years. With your help, RAD will be able to thrive and expand in the years to come.
