Everything about this experience was wonderful and I love how my top surgery came out SO much! Dr. Fisher is a very special person!
I had top surgery with Dr. Fischer in 2014. She is a lovely person, and was great to interact with, she answered all my questions very patiently. I'm mostly happy with my surgery results, but I had some issues with her office as well. I use they pronouns, and I told her that, and yet no one on her staff every actually used the correct pronouns, event though I corrected them several times. She also requested that I present myself as a binary trans man in my doctor's letter to make things "less complicated" for her and her office. I was not comfortable with this, but I complied just to get the thing done. I also called her office after they had closed and got her answering service, and was called "ma'am" by the answering service. When I corrected the person on the phone, they reacted negatively, and said they were "just the answering service" and weren't required to "deal with those issues," aka respecting people's pronouns.
I had double incision with nipple grafts, and had only minor complications (reaction to the dressing, major swelling/drainage issues on one side). 2 years later, I'm very happy with everything - she did a great job minimizing scarring and placing everything where it should be. If I had the money for it, I would consider a revision for some remaining tissue and slight dog ears on the side that had the drainage issues, but as it is, I'm just going to live with it.
