When I first took my teen to Dr. Hatfield to evaluate for cross-hormones, I was really nervous and, frankly, not sure it was 'in the cards' for us. But Dr. Hatfield's obvious understanding of both my trans son's situation and my need for reassurance was profound. He had thoughtful responses for every question - nothing I said surprised or rattled him. And he seemed to know exactly what I needed to hear. After completing some tests, Dr. Hatfield recommended a graduated dose of testosterone. He and his team trained us on how to administer the shots safely and have always been responsive to questions. The staff's breadth of experience with gender-diverse people is evident in the way they address us and in their success with our insurance company. When the time came to update my son's identity documents, we asked Dr. Hatfield during a routine exam. He handed us the letters we needed before we left his office that day. Seriously, I cannot sing the praises of this man loudly enough.
