David Alvarez, DO
East Ann Arbor Health Center
We don't have a description for this provider yet. Can you help?
I would strongly discourage folks from seeing Dr. Alvarez. I've been a patient of another doctor in that office for five years. Occasionally when she's out of town I see other doctors in the practice. I saw Dr. Alvarez once for a routine test result follow up (not anything transition related). Both he and his nurse repeatedly referred to my chest surgery as a mastectomy even after I corrected them. I had to argue with the nurse about it because she insisted on adding "mastectomy" to my medical chart. Not only did I find this disrespectful, I thought it was pretty absurd since I've been a patient at that office for five years and clearly my primary doctor didn't feel the need to put that on my record. I'm not sure why he's listed as a trans* friendly doctor on this site, since I had to explain to him what my scars were from and what chest surgery entailed (again, not at all related to the reason for my appointment).
