Hawn Therapy and Consulting
What would it be like to have a trans-identified queer therapist? I'm a non-binary person who is active in trans community. My clients say that this makes them feel really comfortable in coming to therapy. I love to watch the process of people making the changes they want for their lives with support. I help those who feel lonely find community, those who have forgotten their passions find inspiration, and those who struggle with self-criticism find self-confidence. I can help with out of network reimbursement, including connecting you with an app that does the work.
I work with gender non-conforming children and their families, trans people of all ages, and queer and LGBTQ+ folks. I'm a non-binary person who uses gender neutral pronouns. Due to my own multi-racial identity, another interest is in working with mixed race folks and exploring life experiences with mixed roots.
I offer EMDR treatment for trauma, anxiety, and self defeating beliefs. Many of my transgender clients have found EMDR helpful and not too activating of dysphoria. I provide support for LGBTQ+ people during the family-building process and am guided by a social justice framework.
Writing surgery recommendation letters for trans and gnc folks in NC (through video session) and Maryland.
We didn't know where to turn starting our journey. This was the first person that we left a message for that called us back and was able to see us fairly soon. I felt that we were treated with a lot of care and respect. Very knowledgeable, understanding, and provided us some wonderful outlets and referrals starting out. We have been with them for slightly over a year and we have been enjoying this part of our journey.
