Antonia Caretto, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist and a graduate of the University of Michigan and the Alliant International University California School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Caretto's doctoral dissertation research was on "Familial Homosexuality Among Women and It's Relationship to Childhood Gender Role Non-Conformity and Adult Sex Role." She completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Hawthorn Center in 1994 and has been fully licensed by the State of Michigan since then. Dr. Caretto has a solo private practice in Farmington Hills, Michigan where she sees children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of presenting issues, specializing in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders, Gender Variance and Dysphoria and Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Dr. Caretto is also the consulting Psychologist for the Ruth Ellis Center Second Stories Outpatient Program for homeless, runaway and at-risk LGBTQ youth. Dr. Caretto has worked with over 60 adults and 50 children with gender dysphoria and currently hosts a support group for Parents of Transgender Kids, as well as a Facebook page with the same name. She has done presentations on Transgender Identities at conferences and trainings throughout the country.

Has signed Affirmations' Community Standards of Practice, a twelve point document that asserts that a provider's health care services are inclusive of the diversity found in the LGBTQ communities.
