Sharon Dunski Vermont, M.D. is a General Pediatrician in a suburb of St. Louis, MO. She graduated in 1993 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. In 1996, she completed her pediatrics residency at Indiana University Medical Center/Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. As the mother of a transgender son, Sharon has a strong interest in Transgender Health. She has instituted gender and sexuality screening for all of her patients at yearly well exams starting at age 3 and has begun a campaign to get these screening questions into every pediatric office associated with Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She also has upcoming plans to speak about Transgender Health at a Mercy Hospital Pediatrics Department Meeting. Sharon's goal is to help all pediatricians learn more about Transgender Health issues so that they can properly care for all of their patients.
