Categories:   Adolescent Therapy, Child Therapy, Family Therapy, Group Therapy, Individual Therapy, Support Groups

Michael Kenney is a Psychotherapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has experience working with a diverse range of client difficulties. He earned his B.A. in psychology at the University of Chicago and both his Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Clinical Social Work at Loyola University Chicago. Michael’s work experience has afforded him the opportunity and privilege of encountering clients from “all walks of life”. Depression, anxiety, recovery from abuse and trauma, and relationship issues are territories that he has explored with clients on a path to self healing. He is sensitive to how issues of oppression can psychologically impact on self-esteem, particularly if one is labeled by others as ‘different’. He believes that the struggle to find fulfillment and inner peace is a universal challenge for all human beings and that psychotherapy can serve as a means of developing a compassionate stance towards oneself and others in meeting this challenge. He finds that the supportive environment of psychotherapy can be an empowering experience for the individual.
