Absolutely horrible. This is the worst therapist I have ever seen. I left the office in tears and actually felt worse after therapy. I was referred to this therapist because I am a survivor of incest and I wanted help with the resulting trauma. I poured out my heart to Beatriz and cried after I told her all about my sexual abuse. She didn't try comfort me or say anything empathetic whatsoever. She simply she just "What about your father?" My reaction was a total "WTF??" I never once mentioned my father ever in paperwork, intake or during therapy. I was not attending therapy for ANYTHING to do with my father. I was so confused and asked her to clarify. She told me that my labeling of my sexual abuse from a family member was incorrect. She actually told me "You're wrong. Incest is only between a father and daughter. If it wasn't your father who abused you then you're not a survivor of incest." My mind was BLOWN. Absolutely BLOWN. First of all, even if she was correct--WHY would you pull a "Well, actually..." to a person who is obviously crying and traumatized? Second, her definition of incest is so so very wrong. There is no law or religion that defines incest as solely between a father and daughter. This therapist was so obviously bad that it seemed unreal. I can't believe someone like this has a license. To add insult to injury, the reception staff member was cold and unfriendly. Oh, she also made me pay in cash for the first session even though I had insurance because it was her "policy."
