Description

Marlo is a licensed clinical social worker with a decade of experience working with individuals, families, couples, and groups. He uses a blend of contemporary cognitive, behavioral, and psychodynamic approaches along with Buddhist and Yogic approaches to help people create rich and meaningful lives. He has been a dedicated practitioner and teacher of Insight meditation for over 10 years. He trained as an Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction instructor at the Oasis Center at UMASS Worcester and is also a certified Iyengar Yoga instructor.

Marlo integrates his professional, personal, and creative experiences into an approach that builds on people’s innate resources and strengths. As a bi-cultural and bilingual son of immigrants, he enjoys working with people of diverse cultural and racial backgrounds. His areas of specialty/interest include anxiety & mood disorders, trauma, addiction, LGB and issues, trans and gender variance, cross-cultural, class and race issues, and spirituality. His aim is to help people address the suffering in their lives with dignity, compassion, and perseverance.

The Meeting Point is a collaboration of independent body workers and mental health practitioners. We know that there are many ways to heal and grow. We know that it can be difficult to access the resources you need to cultivate your own strength and well being. We are a resource for gender variant youth and families, gender queer and transgender adults and loved ones, lesbian, gay and queer people, relationships and families. We also provide meaningful and informed services to people who have survived trauma, and people with physical and psychiatric disabilities.
