Description

Psychodynamic psychotherapy for individuals and couples. I work deeply and psychodynamically in a socio-cultural context. I believe that people need to be reached far more than they need to be influenced. I specialize in depression and unclear or long-standing trauma, and gender complexity.

I have an undergraduate degree from UC Santa Cruz in Community Studies, where I was committed to learning the ins and outs of grassroots organizing. As I developed my own voice and desire, I moved from communities to psyches, and began my studies in pursuit of becoming a psychotherapist. I received a Masters degree in Feminist Clinical Psychology from the New College of California, San Francisco and subsequently obtained a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley.

Throughout my studies I have acquired a skilled and defined way of working with many communities and many realms of trauma. I have special interests and experience working with gender complexity and transitions, with many matters of sex and sexuality, with grief, and with infant-parent dyads. Over these years I have continuously been moved by the nuances and changes that this work entails, and the life that it can bring forth.
