I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy with Dr. Randy Lizardo and his team at Maryland Surgery Center for Women. Dr. Lizardo and staff are relatively new references for FTM/trans-masculine individuals seeking OBGYN cares and/or hysterectomies and the center he works with uses forms and language that is gender-specific. I felt nervous interacting with intake staff because everything is geared towards cisgender women, but it's clear everyone is very comfortable with FTM/transmale patients. The team at the Surgery Center was beyond fantastic--the nurses were above and beyond caring and helpful. Dr. Lizardo is professional and very relatable. Know if you go: Dr. Lizardo and his staff are a bit of an island in a sea of cis-oriented services. Waiting room situations might be particularly uncomfortable for genderqueer/masculine of center folks who do not "pass." Even I (who pass well) got some eyeballs from curious folks in the waiting room, but overall the experience was very positive.
