UConn Rainbow Center

Categories:   Social Groups

We pride ourselves on a family-like environment with both academic and social opportunities. We have been serving UConn’s diverse communities of gender identities, gender expressions and sexualities since 1998. The fun and amazing staff provides resources and services to the wider campus community of students, faculty, staff, and local residents. Our educational and social programs include weekly discussion groups, Gender and Sexualities Studies courses, an LGBTQ alternative spring break trip, Friday night Rainbow Lounge Presents..., the Out to Lunch lecture series, CommunitE weekly e-newsletter, Rainbow Cinema, a number of unique programs, the annual t-shirt awareness campaign, and a library with over 2,000 books and videos. We have three new weekly discussion groups called Out of the Box, which addresses gender non-conformity and gender fluid identities; the Allies' Project, a dialogue experience for cisgender, heterosexual allies; and Aces & Aros, which addresses asexuality and aromantic identities.
