My 17 year old son began testosterone treatment with Dr. L on the informed consent model. She is now his primary care doctor. We both appreciate her skill, patience, in-depth knowledge and compassion.
Dr. Lawrence is wonderful. I went to her for HRT and she told me she's been helping trans people through their transitions for the past 10+ years. She follows an informed consent model, so after explaining why I had come in and what I was hoping to achieve she talked to me about the effects and risks of hormones. I started taking them not too long after. Recently I got in touch with her about a dosage question and she was very helpful, making it clear that she wants to work with her patients to get them the results they want. I scheduled an appointment for blood work (which they do in-house), and she told me that once the labs come back we can go from there and tinker with the dosages. The clinic itself is staffed by great people as well-- they're all kind and there to help. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Lawrence and the Carrboro Pediatrics and Internal Medicine clinic.
