Kim Perry, MSW, LICSW
Kim is a Rhode Island and Massachusetts licensed psychotherapist with specialized training in the treatment of trauma, grief and loss, and anxiety disorders. A graduate of the Boston University School of Social Work, Kim has focused her work on assisting individuals, couples, and families to realize wellness through treatment planning and implementation that emphasizes use of clients personal strengths and resources, identification and amelioration of barriers to progress, and the integration of complementary supports to best serve clients needs. Kims treatment is highly specific and uniquely tailored to the needs and wishes of those she serves. Such treatment may include an integration of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and family systems modalities among others, and often encompasses use of EMDR-related techniques, energy medicine, and mindfulness-based stress reduction approaches.
Kims professional experience includes work in hospital, agency, and school settings. She has served specialized populations including students, veterans, older adults, and the chronically ill. She served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Tourette Syndrome Association of RI (TSARI) for seven years during which she managed the organizations information and referral phone line. Kim received the organizations Volunteer Spirit Award for her efforts to improve the lives of those touched by TS. She was also named TSARIs first Liaison for Education and Advocacy through which she provided clinical education and supportive services to schools and community organizations relevant to Tourette Syndrome and its associated disorders.
