Dr. Parks provides counseling for gender variant/gender questioning youth, adolescents and adults.
"I provide individual, couples, and family therapy for clients struggling with a wide variety of issues. I have experience working with people across the lifespan, with specific expertise in trauma, adjustment issues, transition to adulthood, gender spectrum related issues, work with the LGBTQQIA community, and depression and anxiety.
I practice an integrative approach to therapy, implementing relational, cognitive-behavioral (CBT and DBT), developmental, and psychodynamic techniques in my work. I strongly believe in the need for tailoring the techniques used to meet the needs of the individual therapeutic relationship. I emphasize a collaborative approach to treatment that empowers clients to feel responsible for their own change, and to then feel capable of continuing their own work outside of the therapy office. I strive to provide my clients with both concrete skills to aid in immediate symptom relief, and deeper relational work to understand the developmental underpinnings of the issue at hand. I feel this combination of focus on the present and exploration of the past is paramount for long term growth and relief of symptoms."
Molly Parks is the calmest, most empathetic, kindest therapist we have dealt with. She is extremely knowledgeable of transgender children and the issues they deal with. She has helped us navigate schools and community with our transgender child, and has been our trusted therapist for the last 3 years. We highly recommend anyone with a transgender child to see her.
Dr. Parks worked with our complex family for 4 years. She helped us navigate internal questioning, and external organizations, like school and other medical practices, as our trans child grew. While an individual private practice, she was available when we needed her without exception.
